#4 Josh Allen (Wyoming)

This may be the least likely scenario for the Patriots, but with their own first-round pick and the 49ers second-round selection, New England could package the two to get into the 12-15 range. That’s according to the commonly used trade value chart. Even if the Patriots can trade up, it’s not likely Josh Allen would still be on the board.

More from NFL Mocks

New England is already very familiar with Allen from preparations for the 2017 NFL Draft. The Patriots signed former Wyoming tight end Jacob Hollister as an undrafted free agent and would have seen plenty of Allen in the process. The 6-foot-4 junior would be a great fit, but Brady still has enough years left that it doesn’t make sense to package multiple picks for a quarterback. The Garoppolo trade never would have occurred if the Patriots thought there wasn’t enough time to develop another QB.

While the addition of Allen would have a domino effect on the rest of the league, don’t expect it to happen. However with Sam Darnold rumored to be staying in school and Josh Rosen’s character concerns, if the Patriots were to trade up for a QB, Allen would be their guy.
