For the past three years it has felt like the Chicago Bears were general surgeons, just trying to repair a body that has undergone so much damage.

Now for the first time it feels like they’ve graduated to specialists. They know exactly which part of the body is ailing and how it must be repaired. GM Ryan Pace deserves credit for the job he’s done rebuilding the Bears roster. It’s starting to feel like this team is close to becoming a legitimate playoff contender. One more strong offseason could be the push they need. Are they able to pull it off in this latest mock draft?

The Bears only have six picks going into the 2018 draft. It stands to reason that GM Ryan Pace might seek to stockpile more now that he has a quarterback in place. In this instance he’s able to get creative. He knows the Jacksonville Jaguars are anxious to find one of their own what with Blake Bortles still not playing at a high level. Not only is Chicago able to get back the 3rd rounder they lost in the Trubisky trade, but also another weapon in the form of Allen Hurns. He was reportedly up for trade earlier this year. This makes a perfect chance for the Jags to move him.
Having acquired help at receiver, the Bears are able to shift to another area that needs attention which is their pass rush. Leonard Floyd continues to be a stud but the depth chart gets thin in a hurry after him. Willie Young is coming back at 32-years old off a season-ending injury. Pernell McPhee can’t be relied on either. Harold Landry could represent that second young, athletic rusher who could team with Floyd to create havoc on opposing quarterbacks.
. OLB.
