4. Strength on Strength

More from NFL Mocks

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention perhaps the best unit in this game — the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive line. They are going up against a very good Carolina defensive line, led by the aforementioned Kawann Short and a defensive end who has found the fountain of youth — Julius Peppers.

This game pits strength on strength, as the Eagles’ offensive line is phenomenal, potentially the best in the NFL this season, and the Panthers’ defensive line excels both in the pass rush department (inside and outside) as well as against the run.

The Panthers’ offensive line has also played quite well this season according to Pro Football Focus metrics, and they are going up against one of the best defensive fronts in football.

The Eagles have Brandon Graham, one of the best pass rushers in the league, but they also have plenty of depth and options on the defensive line to cause problems for the Carolina offense. Specifically, this Philadelphia defensive line is going to make it very hard for the Panthers to run the football.
