The Chicago Bears got their first win of 2017, but it’s going to take more than that before people start to accept them as a better football team.

Much of the issues, per usual, center around the quarterback position. Mike Glennon isn’t playing well and calls grow louder for Mitch Trubisky. Still, the rest of the roster has begun to assert itself. This really does look like a team that may be one more good draft away from becoming a legitimate threat in the NFC. How should they go about accomplishing that task? Well here’s one possible way to do it.

1st Round

57. Anybody who stopped following Clemson after Deshaun Watson left made a huge mistake. This program suddenly has the makings of an outstanding defense, and one of the men driving the ship is defensive end Austin Bryant. This kid is just 20-years old and already a junior. He broke his foot in 2016 which slowed his impact, but that didn’t stop him. Now healthy he’s been terrorizing quarterbacks early this season with five sacks in the past three games.
The Bears pass rush is still trying to find its juice thus far. Leonard Floyd has no sacks in three games. Pernell McPhee has two and Willie Young one. Given the age and injury concerns regarding the latter two, it’s imperative the team supplement their pass rusher with another young talent. Bryant is great for one of two reasons. Either he’s insurance on Floyd being a flash in the pan or he’s that wing man Floyd will have for years to come.
. DE. Clemson. Austin Bryant . 1. player
