A month into the college football season, it saddens me to say that it appears as though Josh Allen is very rattled.

Completing just nine passes against Hawai’i?

That’s really tough to be optimistic about, even with drops factored in.

More from NFL Mocks

Allen lost a significant amount of firepower offensively to the NFL  this past offseason, and it has been tough sledding for him this year as a result.

He’s in a very tough spot because it’s not like the talent around him is going to get better at Wyoming next year, but he also doesn’t appear ready for the rigors of the NFL.

Allen should definitely be leaving school at the end of the year, and use the pre-draft process any way he can to improve his overall stock. He is going to have to get to work in an NFL camp and improve so many different areas of his game. In particular right now, he struggles with his accuracy.

He’s definitely still capable of making big plays and has all of the traits you would want in a starting quarterback, but this type of performance (even though stats don’t tell the whole story) is disappointing.

Hopefully Allen gets some of his confidence back quickly as the season progresses.
