The Effect Of Injuries

Injuries. They can ruin teams with Super Bowl aspirations. Just ask Mike McCarthy. Every coach would say that they would have confidence in their respective deputy, the truth of the matter is you need players such as Mike Daniels, David Bakhtiari and Randall Cobb on the field.

Green Bay’s injury report for this game looked grim, to say the least. They listed seven players as doubtful for today’s game and five of them are starters. The Packers have already seen first-hand this season the debilitating impact of injuries. Last week, without Bakhtiari and Bryan Bulaga, Aaron Rodgers was running for his life.

That said, Cincinnati will also be without some key players. Andy Dalton will be down two offensive weapons, as both Tyler Eifert and John Ross are out with back and knee injuries respectively. Dalton’s offensive line will also be further depleted, as starting right guard Trey Hopkins is also out.

It’ll be interesting to see how both teams react to these injuries, and both coaching staffs will be hoping that their guys can escape the field injury-free.
