Ravens vs Jaguars in London: 5 things to watch for
By Andrew Kim
4. Joe Flacco and Ravens receivers against Jaguars secondary
Joe Flacco had a better game last week against the Browns, as he went 25 for 34 and threw 217 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. A performance like this against the Jaguars should be sufficient enough for the offense to play keep away and win the game. With cornerbacks, Jalen Ramsey, who was not at practice due to an ankle injury suffered in week 1, and A.J. Bouye; throwing on the outside is done with extreme caution. Both Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman have been relatively absent these last two games, only combining for three catches for 20 yards. Marty Mornhinweg will get them the targets they need to be playmakers in this offense in week 3.
Jeremy Maclin will be the key receiver, as he has been the featured receiver in this offense so far and has been a great pickup in the offseason.
So far, Maclin has 6 catches for 87 yards for two touchdowns the last two games. Maclin against the slot cornerback Aaron Colvin is an intriguing matchup as well the matchup with Ben Watson against the Jaguars athletic linebackers in Telvin Smith and Myles Jack. Watson emerged last week against the Browns, catching eight targets for 91 yards as the leading receiver for the Ravens. Was last week an anomaly or is Watson a consistent cog and a legit weapon in this offense?
