2. Chris Carson, RB, Seahawks

Chris Carson — the 2017 NFL Draft afterthought.

Perhaps even justifiably so.

Carson started off his collegiate career at a Community College in Kansas before he wound up at Oklahoma State, and he almost didn’t even really get a chance to play as a senior. He had 12 carries in the first two games of his final year at Oklahoma State before he injured his thumb, missing the next four games.

He finished the year strong, and was drafted in the seventh round by the Seattle Seahawks.

The uphill battle didn’t end there, as the Seahawks had a deep stable of backs going into the offseason.

Carson didn’t seem to care.

As he has done many times to defenders already in his pro career, Carson ran over the rest of his competition and has apparently seized the number one running back job in Seattle.

That’s pretty remarkable, all things considered.

Running behind one of the most porous offensive lines in football, Carson has forced eight missed tackles and is averaging 5.1 yards per carry. He’s putting together a strong rookie of the year candidacy thus far.
