5. Carl Lawson, ED, Bengals

Remind us all again why Carl Lawson lasted until day three of the 2017 NFL Draft?

What a joke.

Lawson leads all rookies with seven quarterback pressures through two games, and is — as you see above — tops among rookies in pass rush productivity as a result.

Lawson has never seemed to have any problem getting pressure on the quarterback, and his Combine workout was excellent. What gives?

Injury history likely played a role in where he was selected, but the Bengals aren’t going to complain. In a year that appears on the road to being forgettable for the Bengals, this young players seems to be a bright spot.
