John Dorsey (Free agent)

It was a major shock when the Kansas City Chiefs decided to fire John Dorsey. Especially considering the success the team had been having the past few years, much of it due to his work. Travis Kelce, Dee Ford, Marcus Peters and Tyreek Hill were some of his big additions to their roster in the past five seasons. One would think that might earn him a contract extension.

Unfortunately that alone wasn’t enough to save him. So what went wrong. Word is it came down to his management style. Dorsey suffered from a lack of communication. He would do things in the front office, big things like firing assistants and the like without telling anybody. On top of that he wasn’t known for creating a clear chain of command.

That sort of reputation may turn some teams off to giving him another shot. At the same time if he’s learned that lesson after the fact then it would definitely be worth giving him a second chance. His proven track record in the draft and team-building prowess is hard to ignore.
