Aaron Donald, DL, Rams

Was Aaron Donald holding out this offseason?

Judging off of his performance this past weekend, you wouldn’t know it. The Rams will be paying this man a boatload of money, and the reasons why are too many to count.

Donald is simply one of the elite playmakers in the NFL on the defensive side of the football, and plays like this are why the Rams were so willing to insert him into the starting lineup despite his holdout:

To put it bluntly, the San Francisco 49ers do not have the ability to contain Donald with anyone blocking him one-on-one. He’s far too quick, too fast, too strong, too good for that.

Donald’s presence on the defensive line will force the 49ers to double team him and leave other guys open with great matchups on the edges.

The ripple effect of having Donald in the lineup was noticeable immediately.
