1. Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

If you guessed Kareem Hunt would be number one on the list of week one rookie performances, go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back.

Hunt was electric in the Chiefs’ week one victory over the New England Patriots. You have to give Andy Reid a lot of credit here too, putting Hunt in situations to succeed as both a runner and receiver.

Hunt forced a whopping eight missed tackles in this game against New England, proving his elusiveness in the open field and his ability to break tackles with a strong lower body.

He finished this game with 148 rushing yards and 98 receiving yards with three total touchdowns. We wrote a while back that Hunt could be the most utilized back in the league this season, even before the injury that put Spencer Ware on IR.

Now, with his performance in week one, the Chiefs would be foolish not to be giving this kid 25 touches per week, and making defensive coordinators lose sleep over having to cover both he and Tyreek Hill.
