Dallas Cowboys: Review of Victory Over the New York Giants
By Brady Lunt
Dan Bailey Was Reliable, but Showed Offensive Deficiencies
The Cowboys got the win and that’s all that matters. So it becomes difficult to point out things that went “wrong” when it obviously went right. One thing to note, however, was the inability for Dallas to punch things in the end zone.
Dan Bailey demonstrated he’s one of the most accurate kickers in the league, completing all four of his field goal attempts. While this is certainly a positive, it also showed the Cowboys’ shortcomings in the red zone. Dak Prescott overthrew Dez Bryant twice in the end zone. The Cowboys suffered penalties that pushed them back. Three downs seemed to right by once they crossed midfield. Definitely something worth looking at.
Orlando Scandrick Suffers Hand Injury
Another injury to this defense. First Anthony Hitchens and now Orlando Scandrick. He suffered a hand injury in the first half and never returned. The extent of the damage is unknown at this point, but his loss would be devastating. This secondary is young and Scandrick, who was voted as a team captain, is one of the leaders on defense.
His status will be one worth watching closely.
