3. Kareem Hunt is very good

Here’s the understatement of the night: Kareem Hunt is good.

For the short story, you can check out this play, Hunt’s first touchdown as an NFL player:

Hunt had three touchdowns in this game, and we totally knew this was coming:

The Chiefs lost running back Spencer Ware for the season to a knee injury. That type of injury was certainly not welcome news, but it did pave the way for Kareem Hunt to stake his claim on the featured running back position in Kansas City, and it wasn’t all roses to start.

Hunt fumbled right away in this game, but bounced back in a big way.

He showed off his quickness and burst as a running back and definitely his ability to be a dangerous threat as a receiver out of the backfield.

As you saw on the first slide in the throw from Alex Smith, Hunt is an absolute nightmare for linebackers to have to try and cover. Give him that much time to get open, and he’s going to burn you.

This was a heck of an NFL debut for Hunt, even factoring in his early fumble.
