Defensive End

Tuitt and Heyward have both had a significant injury history, but their talent is undeniable. The Steelers new addition Tyson Alualu should help with giving  both ends rest and solid insurance.

DE1: Stephon Tuitt

DE1: Cameron Heyward

DE2: Tyson Alualu

DE3: L.T Walton

Defensive Tackle

The Steelers look to have a true mainstay at the position in upcoming sophomore Javon Hargrave. Hargrave had a solid rookie year and looks to have continued to improve this preseason.

DT1: Javon Hargrave

DT2: Daniel McCullers

Inside Linebacker

Losing Timmons made depth at the middle linebacker position a whole lot thinner. Shazier has a tough time staying healthy and Vince Williams is inexperienced. But both look to be in line to be workhorses at the position

ILB1: Ryan Shazier

ILB1: Vince Williams

ILB2: Tyler Matakevich

ILB3: L.J. Fort

On the Bubble: Steven Johnson

Outside Linebacker

Edge Rusher is the lifeblood of the Steelers 3-4. And with that in mind Pittsburgh went ahead and added TJ Watt in the first round as the heir to James Harrison throne.

Bud Dupree hype has taken over the offseason, so his progress will be something to keep an eye on.

OLB1: Bud Dupree

OLB1: TJ Watt

OLB1: James Harrison

OLB2: Arthur Moats

OLB3: Anthony Chickillo

Safety

Ahhhh, the Steelers secondary. Safety seems to be a lot easier to predict than cornerback, but with help needed at both defensive back positions don’t be surprised to see some new names on the roster this year.

Safety will be a little easier to cut down than cornerback just do to less players on the roster already.

S1: Mike Mitchell

S1: Sean Davis

S2: Robert Golden

Cornerback

It has been a tough preseason for all Steelers cornerbacks not named Mike Hilton.

With the Steelers blockbuster signing of Joe Haden, the landscape of their secondary has shifted.

Haden will look to produce in order to continue on his 3-year, 27 million dollar contract and most likely will do so at the cost of Ross Cockrell’s playing time.

Don’t be surprised if the Steelers trade Cockrell altogether. If they decide to keep cockrell, my guess is Sensabaugh would be the odd man out. With so many questions, the more the merrier for Keith Butler.

CB1: Artie Burns

CB1: Joe Haden

CB1: William Gay

CB2: Cameron Sutton

CB2: Ross Cockrell

CB3: Mike Hilton

CB3: Brian Allen

On the Bubble: Dashaun Phillips, Jacorey Shepherd

Kicker/Punter/Long Snapper

The Wizard of Boz isn’t going anywhere.

K1: Chris Boswell

P1: Jordan Berry

LS1: Colin Holba

53 names, and a lot more that should and could make this roster.  One thing is for sure, the final cuts will be extremely exciting.
