Patrick Onwuasor could be a candidate to start next to C.J. Mosely

With veteran Albert McClellan out for the season with a torn ACL, Patrick Onwuasor could start next to C.J. Mosely as the weak side linebacker based on his preseason performance.
The Baltimore Ravens could use a playmaker in the middle to start next to Mosely to replace the losses of McClellan and Zachary Orr this past offseason but Patrick Onwuasor could be the guy to do just that. The undrafted rookie from last year out of Portland State was signed to the practice squad and eventually was promoted to the active roster. Onwuasor played in 11 games (one game started) and had 21 combined tackles with 1 forced fumble in 2016. Then in the offseason, he was resigned with the Ravens to a one year deal as a depth signing and as a special teamer. But now, Onwuasor is mainly competing with former 2nd round pick from last year Kamalei Correa.
Last year, the outside linebacker out of Boise State Kamalei Correa was put on injured reserve after playing 9 games; making 4 combined tackles, 1 pass deflection, and 1 forced fumble.
This year, Correa is converting to weak side linebacker and while he should be a lock as the starter, his play has good enough but not enough to separate from guys like Onwuasor. Even though he is switching to a new position with more coverage assignments, Correa has had 4 combined tackles so far this preseason and hasn’t flashed with the starters.
Compared to Onwuasor, Correa’s stat line and his snaps are noticeably less than the Portland State linebacker.
Onwuasor, so far this preseason; has had 9 combined tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 1 pass deflection. This last preseason game against the Saints should dictate the starter for the weak side linebacker position. Onwuasor has to impress if he wants to start over Correa as he is the starter for the time being. The Ravens could keep this position as a committee job and could have both of them split reps in the regular season.
