Despite a few games taking place last week, the college football season officially gets under way this week with a full slate of games. Labor Day weekend gets an early start in the college football world as Thursday begins a stretch of five consecutive days with games featuring ranked teams.

While some top-20 teams such as Miami and Kansas State will use week one as a glorified scrimmage against FCS competition, there are a few games that will impact the playoff picture. Number one Alabama and number three Florida State is the game of the week, but playoff hopefuls LSU (against BYU) and Michigan (versus Florida) also face tough tests to begin the season.

Regardless of who the opponent is, prospects eligible for the 2018 NFL Draft finally have the opportunity to improve their film score. There are plenty of players to watch over a five day span, but the following are the prospects who will be put under the microscope and will have to step up in week one of the college football season.
