Hroniss Grasu at center

Listen. People need to stop with the nitpicking. Yes, Hroniss Grasu isn’t the strongest center on Earth. He’s not going to bully big defensive lineman. That’s just not his game. However, the Bears already know this. When allowed to play to his strengths, which are technique and athleticism, he’s proven to be a valuable asset in relief of Cody Whitehair who currently fills in for Kyle Long.

His movement skills were on display on a number of run plays and his pass protection was rock solid aside from one or two rough plays. Remember he was going to be the Bears starter in 2016 before he got hurt. Whitehair was destined for left guard. Seeing them in those spots shouldn’t be that big a surprise, nor is it a surprise he’s playing well.
