Chicago Bears: 5 Things People Missed In Titans Win
By Erik Lambert
Run defense was outstanding
One of the biggest points of emphasis for the Bears coaching staff going into 2017 was shoring up their ability to stop the run. It was a constant problem in 2016 and reached a crisis point when Ty Montgomery, a converted receiver, posted over 180 yards on them. That’s why the team invested more at safety and the defensive line. They needed more consistency.
Seems they’ve accomplished that objective. The Bears run defense has been consistently good all preseason and was excellent in Tennessee. This is a big deal because the Titans were one of the best rushing teams in the league last season. However DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry combined for just 40 yards on 15 carries.
