The Chicago Bears are looking more and more like a team that’s working towards a playoff run. They’re not there yet, but it’s getting close.

If they can get the 2018 draft right, then this team is in business. Already the 2016 class looks like a home run with at least three potential star players. Now the 2017 crops is beginning to show signs of instance capability headlined of course by quarterback Mitch Trubisky. It’s an exciting time for the city of Chicago but there is plenty of work left to do. Here’s the latest possible moves they could make next April.

1st Round

57. Locking up Charles Leno Jr. to a long-term extension pretty much signals the Bears believe he can be their left tackle moving forward. His steady improvement every year makes that seem feasible enough. If nothing else the move grants GM Ryan Pace added flexibility for the 2018 draft, being able to focus on taking the best player possible on the board. Don’t be surprised though if he focuses on a need early.
Leonard Floyd looks like he’s going to be a star in 2017 presuming he stays healthy. It’s the rest of his cohorts that are a mystery. Pernell McPhee has ongoing knee problems. Lamarr Houston is an unknown quantity after a second torn ACL in three years. Willie Young will be 33 next year. Adding a young, athletic edge rusher like Dorance Armstrong gives the Bears that second long-term option who can team with Floyd for years to come.
. OLB. Kansas. Dorance Armstrong Jr. . 1. player
