Josh Rosen’s comments about school and football may not set well with many who have gone before him, but they are spot on…
Josh Rosen’s recent comments in an interview with Bleacher Report won’t set well with many student-athletes who have gone before him, but what he has to say about football and education could open many eyes.

Since I was in college myself, trying to juggle school, family, and what I believed would eventually be my full-time job, it became apparent that the demands on a football player were completely unreasonable given the amount of time it takes to do both well.
This isn’t about being ungrateful for an opportunity to pursue an education for free and play football at the same time. The problem here is that you can’t really effectively do both at the same time.
There have been a lot of things said about Rosen and his love for the game with some of his public stances and comments (including these ones), but this type of piece gives you a great look into what this kid really believes in.
Not only does he talk about wanting a successful career after football, he talks about wanting to be a championship player, someone who plays in the league for 15 plus years and creates a legacy in the game.

To me, this tell-all by Rosen is indicative of just how mature he really is, and how he’s seeing things for what they truly are.
This is a young man that you can’t sneak anything past. He thinks things through and he’s not afraid to share his opinion on something, especially when it can make a difference.
Rosen is going to compete this season with a number of other talented players in college football to be the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. As he stated in the article, he’s only 20 years old. He’s coming into his own physically and mentally, and this season could be a big time breakout year for him.
These statements won’t be universally agreed upon, but it’s how Rosen feels and he’s not afraid to speak his mind. I appreciate that in a player of his age, with his platform. The key for Rosen now is to acknowledge the target on his back, embrace it, and go out there and prove he can back up what he’s saying off the field and be a great player on it.
