The NFL Network has felt somewhat hit and miss the past couple years, not really rolling out anything groundbreaking for football fans.

However, that hasn’t stopped them from continuing to produce must-see content fans know and love. A big one that is set to unveil its latest treasure trove is the acclaimed “A Football Life” series. Pioneered by an inside look into a full season with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, it soon became one of the networks’ biggest hits. Everybody from players to coaches, owners, teams and even single plays have experienced the close-up treatment from this series.

Now it appears the seventh season is ready to go and boy oh boy is it a loaded deck this time. Headlined by the great Dan Marino of Miami Dolphins fame, the 13-episode arc will encompass 10 Hall of Famers. This includes unforgettable personalities like Jerry Jones, John Randle, and John Madden. Here is the list in its entirety.

  • Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino
  • NFL all-time leading rusher and Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith
  • Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach John Madden
  • 5-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Wes Welker
  • Late Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl linebacker Sam Mills
  • Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly
  • 10-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald
  • 4-time Pro Bowl running back Eddie George
  • Super Bowl Champion head coach Joe Gibbs
  • Pro Football Hall of Fame owner and general manager Jerry Jones
  • Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Aeneas Williams
  • Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive tackle John Randle
  • Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver duo Lynn Swann & John Stallworth

It’s a good mix of all levels of the league

This will mark the third-straight year where the series has focused entirely on single individuals. Not since season four has that been different when they evaluated the iconic 2006 Rose Bowl game between USC and Texas. This season is also a great exploration of every level of the NFL heirarchy from player to coach to owner and how the game impacts them all in different ways. There is bound to be plenty of drama, action and comedy.

The first episode is set to air in September when the 2017 regular season kicks off.
