OT. Notre Dame. Mike McGlinchey . 4. player. 53. No matter how much Cleveland Browns fans don’t want to admit it, Joe Thomas is nearing the end of his career. The 10-time Pro Bowler will be in the Hall of Fame five years after he retires, but his time left as an active participant is short. Once he’s gone it will leave a gigantic hole on the left side of their offensive line. One that, if they’re wise they’ll prepare to fill in ahead of time with some craft draft strategy.

One that includes snagging his replacement early in 2018. Mike McGlinchey could’ve been a 1st round pick in 2017 but chose to return to school. A wise choice as he still needed polish on his fundamentals. Size, strength and athleticism certainly aren’t issues. He’s got plenty of all three. Throw plenty of starting experience and coaching from one of the top programs in college football? Yeah he’ll make a fine long-term heir to Thomas.
