2018 NFL Mock Draft: Trade Winds Blow Early

LB. Texas. Malik Jefferson . 20. player. 31. It’s unusual that the New York Giants would go for so long without making a significant investment at the linebacker position. This may be arguably the weakest the position as been in the Super Bowl era for the franchise. That much was apparent way too often on an otherwise quality defense in 2016. If they’re going to take another step forward though, it will be through bolstering that area. <p>Malik Jefferson represents the caliber of athlete they’re looking for. He’s an all-around talent who can suck up ball carriers like a vacuum. At the same time he showcased the ability to bring heat on a blitz or drop back into coverage. There aren’t many holes in his game aside from trying to do too much at times. The product of playing on a team that doesn’t have a ton of talent around him.</p>
