Baltimore Ravens training camp: Five major questions
3. How good can the secondary be?
I really like what the Ravens are doing in the secondary.
Last year, they signed Eric Weddle. Let’s see how that worked out…
This year, they signed Tony Jefferson away from the Cardinals…
They also used their first round pick on cornerback Marlon Humphrey out of Alabama.
In short, the Ravens will have one of the nastiest, most physical secondaries in the NFL this season, at least on paper.
Brandon Carr was also brought in from Dallas to add some depth to the secondary, so the Ravens have a really intriguing group.
Once a clear weakness on this team, they now seem to have assembled a very dynamic group of players that can both hit and take the ball away, playing a finesse game if they choose to.
Defensive coordinator Dean Pees will have some fun with this group, coached by Leslie Frazier, and I think we’ll see the Ravens become one of the toughest teams in the league to throw the ball on.
