The Chicago Bears 2018 mock draft outlook represents what will hopefully be the final surge of young talent to put this team back in the postseason.

Don’t try to dance around it. That’s exactly the case. Their first two drafts were about infusing the roster with youth and potential stars at any and all positions. This past 2017 class was built around the acquisition of what will hopefully be a franchise quarterback. Next year GM Ryan Pace will be looking for the knockout blow that gets the Bears out of the cellar. Can he pull it off? Let’s see one of the attempts he could make.

1st Round

1. player. 57. It really didn’t feel like the Bears performed their best in retooling the secondary this offseason. Instead they settled for two free agents in Prince Amukamara and Marcus Cooper along with 4th round safety Eddie Jackson. Not a star-studded group but still one that has upside. People are still waiting for that home run swing by Pace to finally put a top talent where it’s been needed for half a decade now.
At last he does so here. Alabama is a factor for quality defensive backs since Nick Saban took over. To date six defensive backs have gone in the 1st round alone under his watch. Minkah Fitzpatrick has the same qualities all of them do. He’s big, athletic, smart, disciplined and tough. Best of all he’s got the cover skills to play corner if asked. However his best position is safety where he can play either the center fielder or box role.
. S. Alabama. Minkah Fitzpatrick
