30. Oakland Raiders

DT. Alabama. Da'Ron Payne . 30. player. 28. The Achilles heel of the Oakland Raiders defense was their inability to stop the run. It took away so many opportunities for Khalil Mack to rev up the pass rush and exposed the undermanned secondary. To that end the team is trying to bolster the middle of their defense from defensive tackle back to safety. One spot though that remains a constant issue for them is the nose tackle spot. <p>Justin Ellis is a decent player but hardly a force on the interior. The Raiders need somebody who can control the inside lanes. That is what Da’Ron Payne is all about. Alabama is consistently one of the best schools in college football at stopping the run. A big reason for that is being able to develop big, strong and sturdy nose tackles who are hard to move off the ball. Payne lives up to that legacy and then some.</p>
