NFL Supplemental Draft ends with zero players drafted
For the fourth time in five years, the NFL Supplemental Draft bears no fruits to NFL teams looking to add more young talent.
Intended to support athletes with off the field or academic issues raising ineligibility, the NFL Supplemental Draft rarely produces consistent NFL talent.
This year, Georgia Military College defensive lineman Tavares Bingham and Western New Mexico running back Marques Rodgers were the only two players eligible to be drafted through the Supplemental Draft due to eligibility issues.
Bingham played eight games for GMC during the 2015-16 season recording three sacks and eight tackles. Rodgers was the RMAC Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2016 rushing for 1,296 yards on 229 carries and six touchdowns.

Both are now considered undrafted free agents and can sign with any NFL team.
The Rams, who resided in St. Louis at the time, were the last team to make a pick in the Supplemental Draft back in 2015 by taking offensive tackle Isaiah Battle in the fifth round out of Clemson. Battle is no longer with the team, and currently resides with the Kansas City Chiefs organization.
Perhaps the most prolific Supplemental Draft selection was made by Cleveland in 2012 by taking troubled wide receiver Josh Gordon. Despite making the Pro Bowl in 2013 following a 1,600 receiving yard season, Gordon is no longer with the Browns following an indefinite suspension from the NFL.
Gordon has applied for reinstatement but has been denied by the league after multiple failed drug tests.
