This may be the season we see Gordon eclipse 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career. Especially with the team drafting two superb run blockers in guard Forrest Lamp and guard/center Dan Feeney. The addition of left tackle Russell Okung in free agency can help as well if he overcomes his career-long injury woes.
It will be interesting to see how Gordon progresses while playing in an offense that is predicated off it’s passing game. Gordon will likely have to take advantage of his given opportunities to produce, something that he is talented enough to do.
Gordon has been a weapon in the passing game for the Chargers the past two seasons with 74 catches combined. On the other hand, Gordon posted only three 100-yard games last season and had six games in which he averaged three yards per carry or less. The upgrade at offensive line should cure that somewhat but it would be ideal for Gordon to take that next step in his improving career.
