6. Jack Ham (Johnstown, PA)

Jack Ham was a part of a long lineage of dominant Pittsburgh Steelers defenses.  He was known for his hard hitting and instinctual nature coming out of Happy Valley in 1971.  He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1975 and was named to eight Pro-Bowls and All-Pro teams.  He was all over the field as a linebacker and was notably named the Steelers’ fastest player, over the runningbacks, cornerbacks, and wide receivers.

He helped the Steelers win four Super Championships, he was a part of the 75th Anniversary Team and 1970s All-Decade Team.  He set the precedence at Penn State with his dominate linebacking, helping coin the phrase “Linebacker U”.
