9. Herb Adderley (Philadelphia, PA)

After being an All-American halfback at Michigan State, Herb Adderley was drafted 12th overall by the Green Bay Packers.  He was later switched to defensive back due to a crowded backfield, occupied by Hall of Famers Paul Hornung and Jim Taylor.  The great Vince Lombardi once said that he didn’t want to move Adderley to defense out of stubbornness and the explosiveness he could bring to the offense, but realized what he meant to the defense.

He recorded 48 Interceptions in his career and returned 7 for TDs.  He was a five time NFL Champion, a three-time Super Bowl Champion, a five-time Pro-Bowler, and seven times he was named to an All-Pro team.
