1. Joe Montana (New Eagle, PA)
“Joe Cool” was completely that in the world’s biggest stage. After being drafted in the third round of the 1979 Draft, Montana appeared in all 16 games his rookie season. Montana was immediately brought into a situation that was ready to win now. Because of the strong core, Montana went on to win four Super-Bowls with the 49ers, winning Super Bowl MVP in three. On top of performing in the Super Bowl Montana was named to eight Pro-Bowl teams, five All-Pro Teams, he was named the MVP twice, the Offensive Player of the Year once, the Bert Bell Award once. And was named the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. His number 16 is retired by the 49ers.
