#1:  Olin Kreutz

Seems the NFC North cornered the market on great players from Hawaii. Each of the top three come from teams in that division with the Chicago Bears claiming the big prize. For a good six-year stretch in the 2000s they had one of the best centers in the NFL. Olin Kreutz embodied Hawaiian spirit in every classic way.  Adaptable, strong and hiding a bit of nasty to his seemingly calm demeanor. Brian Urlacher always said he was the real locker room leader.

Kreutz went to six-straight Pro Bowls during his time in Chicago and was the primary ace for the offensive line that paved the way to Super Bowl XLI. Is it a coincidence that their winning ways evaporated after he left? Perhaps. Either way it was clear Kreutz was beloved by those inside and outside the building and he was sorely missed after he left. He didn’t quite get the happy ending he deserved, but it was still the best career a Hawaiian ever had.
