#3:  Travis Hall

The Atlanta Falcons enjoyed a good run of success from 1998 to 2004. During that period they reached the Super Bowl and also another NFC championship game. One of the few players who were around for both of them was defensive tackle Travis Hall. Not much was expected of the 6th round pick from Kenai. He was an interesting product of BYU. No one was sure if he could play at the NFL level. It didn’t take him long to prove how capable he was.

Hall became a starter in his second season and by his third had put together a 10.5-sack season. From 1996 to 2000 he posted at least 4.5 sacks every year. A run of consistency that’s hard to come by. It was then the Falcons made the curious decision to shift him to defensive end, a position he hadn’t played his entire career. It knocked him out of the starting lineup too. Undeterred he kept finding ways to produce. Though he never got that elusive ring, Hall was an underrated gem for Atlanta.
