#4:  Chris Kuper

Knowing Alaska for the somewhat unforgiving landscape it can be, no doubt it breeds a certain type of hardy people. Similar to Wisconsin, it has become known for producing some quality offensive linemen over the years. Chris Kuper may not be a household name but the guy held down a starting job in the NFL for five years. People don’t understand how hard that actually is to do and he had a good run of success doing so. Sadly injuries ended his run.

From 2007 to 2011 Kuper was the starting left guard for the Denver Broncos. During that period quarterbacks Jay Cutler and Tim Tebow had their greatest runs of personal success including a miracle playoff win against Pittsburgh. Kuper was hurt in 2012 and never was able to fully regain his health after that, though he was part of the 2013 team that reached the Super Bowl. It’s fair to wonder whether he might’ve made a difference in that game.
