2. Mychal Kendricks, LB, Eagles

The Eagles have been dangling Kendricks on the trade block for awhile now, so his value continues to diminish by the day.

I would think the Eagles would like to upgrade at another position of need in a trade for Kendricks, perhaps at running back. I don’t know if they would simply settle for mediocre draft assets in exchange for the veteran linebacker at this point, but I guess anything is possible.

Kendricks has already been in the league for five seasons, but is just 26 years old. He’s at least got the potential to be a top reserve inside linebacker for some team, but that’s just the thing:

No one wants to pay up for a backup linebacker that costs $6.6 million against the cap this year. Teams that trade for Kendricks can get out of his deal after this season, but then what’s the point of trading anything valuable for him?

The Eagles won’t just cut him, because they would have a dead money count over $9 million.

General manager Howie Roseman has been wheeling and dealing since he got to town, it seems, so I’d bet on Kendricks moving at some point or another. It just might not be this season.
