Florida State. Derwin James . 7. player. 57. Chicago Bears fans have been begging the organization to finally get a legitimate top safety from the draft. It’s something they haven’t done for well over a decade and the performance at the position shows. They haven’t fielded a Pro Bowler there since Mike Brown way back in 2005. The saying goes you get what you pay for. The Bears have remained cheap at safety and thus have gotten minimal in return. <p>At last they take the gloves off and deliver a legitimate shot at fixing the problem. Derwin James missed most of 2016 with injury but the fact that he’s considered a top 10 picks for 2018 is a testament to how physically gifted he is. Like another Florida State alum in Jalen Ramsey, he has that rare mix of linebacker size and hitting ability to go with cornerback range and ball skills.</p>. S
