LB. Virginia. Micah Kiser . 26. player. 31. The turnaround of the defense was a huge reason why the New York Giants made the playoffs in 2016. It’s shortcomings were also a big reason they fell flat against the Packers in the playoffs. Granted, the offense not showing up was a big part but there were other issues. Most notably? How inconsequential their linebackers were. It really a rather meh group of role players. A far cry of the star-studded groups of years past. <p>If they want the defense to reach the next level, then the Giants have to improve that area. Micah Kiser features the sort of skill set that defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo loves. He can play the traditional role of find-ball-get-ball but also has the added bonus of being an effective extra pass rusher. That means there are all sorts of exotic packages he could be part of.</p>
