24. Sam Bradford

If quarterback power rankings were based on completion percentage Sam Bradford would be a top five passer. But because his average pass attempt is seven yards, among the worst in the league, the historic completion percentage is diluted.

In the terms of being a number one overall pick, Bradford has been a bust during his NFL career. He’s going to be a stopgap in Minnesota that could win the Vikings seven games, but his career is a bandage that gets a team to a mediocre record.

23. Tyrod Taylor

Who knows what Tyrod Taylor truly is in the NFL considering he’s only started 29 games in six seasons. The likely answer is a guy who’s better as a back-up than a franchise quarterback.

Last season Taylor averaged barely 200 passing yards per game, fourth-worst in the NFL. The only ones with a lower average were Colin Kaepernick, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Brock Osweiler; none of whom have a starting job this year.

Don’t be surprised if rookie Nathan Peterman takes over as a starter in Buffalo this year.

22. Ryan Tannehill

Coming off a torn ACL the start of 2017 is in question for the Dolphins quarterback, who’s in the first true year of his four-year extension. He carries the same cap hit as Aaron Rodgers at $20.3 million, but has hardly performed up to the money.

If healthy Tannehill will be placed under a microscope during the 2017 season considering he can be released with little cap damage. The addition of Julius Thomas to a receiving corp with Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills, and DeVante Parker leaves little room for excuses.

21. Carson Wentz

Coming out of North Dakota State in 2016 few fans knew what to expect from Carson Wentz. The rookie showed great poise making the leap into pro football, especially in a town that’s tough on their stars.

Now with Alshon Jeffrey, Torrey Smith, LeGarrette Blount, and a full year of Lane Johnson, Wentz has one of the best offenses in the league to work in. If Doug Pederson can take the next steps as a head coach along with Wentz the Eagles could be in a position to make a playoff push.
