5. Drafting Travis Kelce

Whether or not you like Travis Kelce’s antics on and off the field, there’s no denying his abilities as a receiver.

A third round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft (John Dorsey’s first with the Chiefs), Kelce didn’t make any sort of impact until his sophomore campaign, when he burst onto the scene with 67 catches, 862 yards, and five touchdowns. He’s been a model of consistency since then, catching nine touchdowns over the past two seasons and setting a career mark in 2016 with 1,125 receiving yards.

In a draft class that is considered one of the worst in recent memory, Kelce was one of the better picks. At 6-foot-5, 255 pounds, he presents matchup nightmares against anyone who covers him.

One play that really stands out to me with Kelce is a touchdown he caught on a screen this past season against the Denver Broncos. He left everyone on a very talented defense in the dust.

That’s the kind of dynamic playmaker this young guy is, and he is going to be the focal point of the Chiefs’ offense moving forward.
