DeShaun Watson – QB – Houston Texans

Evaluating rookie fantasy potential is all about evaluating the situation they are put in. Corey Davis and O.J. Howard enter perfect fits for them. Out of all the quarterbacks drafted, the same can be said for Clemson Gunslinger Deshaun Watson. Watson beats out Patrick Mahomes here quite frankly because of the weapons he possesses around him. Watson goes into an offense with Deandre Hopkins, and speedster Will Fuller as well as premiere back Lamar Miller. Confidence is key for rookie quarterbacks, and having an elite defense and strong weapons around him will go a long way in helping boost Watson’s confidence.

The key with Watson will also be his mobility, as mobile fantasy quarterbacks can be a gold mine regarding fantasy points. Watson is known for his deadly ground game and escaping the pocket and making defenders miss will be something the rookie relies on early in his career. But that Dual-threat option will give Watson a leg up on his competition concerning fantasy points. Having the best receiving corps and the best vision out of all the rookie passer’s makes Watson a no-brainer to succeed from this class.
