9. New Orleans Saints

player. 15. The New Orleans Saints have steadily worked hard to rebuild their defense after repeated years of being the worst unit in the NFL. One position they’ve really struggled to get fixed ever since their peak years between 2009 and 2011 is the linebackers. Stephone Anthony hasn’t taken that next step while the other two spots are occupied by Dannelle Ellerbe and Craig Robertson. Not exactly ideal options.
Maybe 3rd round pick Alex Anzalone ascends but it’s hard to bank on such things. Thus the Saints don’t mess around in this draft. They grab Malik Jefferson to fix that position. The Texas linebacker was all over the field for the Longhorns in 2016, showcasing his range, instinct and physicality. He’s no stranger to excelling despite not being surrounded by a lot of help. So imagine how good he might be if New Orleans does that.
. ILB. Texas. Malik Jefferson . 9
