29. Pittsburgh Steelers

NT. Washington. Vita Vea . 29. player. 55. One of the reasons the Pittsburgh Steelers defense was so dominant during the 2000s was because they were absolutely suffocating against the run. It was beyond difficult to run against them at all. A big reason for that was the presence of their Pro Bowl nose tackle Casey Hampton, who was able to shut down all interior lanes almost by himself. Replacing him since he retired has remained a challenge for the team.
Count this as their latest and biggest attempt. Vita Vea showed his value last year in helping Washington reach the CFB playoff. His size and power were a constant hindrance to running the football but it was his quickness and surprising burst that stood out. So not only could he clog running lanes, he also has some upside as an interior pass rusher. How can Pittsburgh not love the idea of that?
