#4:  Gale Sayers

It’s pretty impressive that a guy made it to 4th place on this list considering he only played 68 games in his entire pro football career. That means Gale Sayers must’ve made a hell of an impact during the short time he was on the field. Indeed this was the case, including the greatest rookie season by any player in history. Sayers had 2,272 all purpose yards in 1965 along with 22 touchdowns scored as a running back, receiver and return man.

He was an athlete who was far ahead of his time. Not just quick and agile but blazing fast with some of the most incredible field vision anybody could ever witness. He saw holes before they formed and knew where every defender was no matter their distance or whether they were almost completely behind him. Sadly a series of knee injuries derailed what could’ve been an all-time great career, but the fact he’s in Canton anyway speaks volumes.
