#10:  Jim Everett

For a short span of time it looked like Jim Everett was ready to become the quarterback of the 1990s. He took the Los Angeles Rams to the playoffs in three out of four years, culminating in an NFC championship appearance in 1989. Sadly he had the bad luck to run into the powerhouse 49ers that year. That didn’t stop him though. A year later he went to his only Pro Bowl, though in fairness he should’ve gone the two previous seasons as well.

Everett might’ve gone higher on this list if his run at the top had continued after that. It did not. He deteriorated over the next few years and was cut loose in 1994. He may have gotten the last laugh though, at least in the short term. Everett had one last hurrah in 1995 with the New Orleans Saints. Though the team finished 7-9, he finished just shy of 4,000 yards with 26 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. An underrated quarterback who never quite had the talent around him to reach the top.
