New England Patriots:  Ty Law

Everybody knows Tom Brady is a lock whenever he chooses to retire. The question isn’t that. It’s whether anybody can beat him into Canton before that happens. There are some interesting candidates including Logan Mankins, Richard Seymour and Wes Welker. However, one name that is garnering increased attention of later is former cornerback Ty Law. He was part of the first four Super Bowl appearances in franchise history and instrumental to their run in 2003 when he intercepted Peyton Manning three times in the AFC championship.

Law was so much more than a one-game wonder though. People never fully grasped how great he was until they looked back at the numbers. Not only was he excellent in coverage, he was also a straight ball hawk. Including the playoffs he finished with 59 interceptions in his career and took seven of those back for touchdowns. It’s hard to believe he only went to five Pro Bowls, but he has three Super Bowl rings so he must not mind much. At some point his chances of entry will align.
