Miami Dolphins:  Zach Thomas

Seeing Jason Taylor go in had to be a feel-good moment for Miami Dolphins fans. Some wondered if he had done enough to make it. Him going in on the first ballot had to give people hope that his long-running teammate Zach Thomas has a shot as well. It’s amazing how many people forget how good the middle linebacker was during the late 1990s and early 2000s. While Taylor grabbed the glory with the sacks, it was Thomas doing all the dirty work everywhere else.

As evidenced by the fact he made over 1,600 tackles in his career. It wasn’t just chasing ball carriers he did well though. He also had 20.5 sacks, 17 interceptions, and scored four defensive touchdowns. It was his bad luck his best years were swallowed up by two of the greatest middle linebackers of the modern era during the 2000s. That should not take away from his accomplishments. A seven-time Pro Bowler, he’s done enough.
