Kansas City Chiefs:  Tony Gonzalez

This should be no surprise. If there is any can’t-miss, first ballot guys on the offensive side on the entire list it has to be Tony Gonzalez. Aside from not having a ring, which was never really his fault the fact is he has all the accolades in the world to justify his enshrinement. For starters, he is the only tight end ranked in the top 25 all-time leaders in receiving yardage. He ranks 5th overall with 15,127 yards. The next closest is Jason Witten with 11,888. That’s a pretty big cushion.

Gonzalez went to 14 Pro Bowls in his career and 10 of them with the Kansas City Chiefs. The guy was so consistent. A marvel of toughness and conditioning. In fact he only missed two games throughout his entire NFL run, playing a total of 270 games. There really aren’t any credible arguments for keeping him out. He retired in 2014, so expect to see a gold jacket on him by 2019. There isn’t a man alive who can say that won’t be happening. Period.
