The Next Hall of Fame Inductee For All 32 NFL Teams
By Erik Lambert
Detroit Lions: Calvin Johnson
Being such a rundown organization for so many years created a gap for potential Hall of Fame inductees in Detroit. Barry Sanders was the last one to go in and since then its been quiet. Now there is hope thanks to the run “Megatron” Calvin Johnson put together during his time in the organization. There were other great wide receivers during his time in the league, but for a good five year window there wasn’t anybody remotely close to his level of sheer dominance.
To think this was a guy that survived the nightmares of the Matt Millen era, including the 0-16 season in 2008. He waded through it all to become the best in the business. He helped get the Lions back to the playoffs just three years after that debacle and established the single-season record with 1,964 yards in 2012. He’s a six-time Pro Bowler. Though his time in the NFL was relatively short, other great players got in for less. He deserves his own jacket.
