Tennessee Titans

After finishing 9-7 and missing the playoffs due to a tiebreaker with the Houston Texans, the Titans are inches away from making it to the postseason. Marcus Mariota has proven that he indeed is the franchise quarterback Tennessee has searched far and wide for. DeMarco Murray will once again carry the ground game with Derrick Henry getting some carries.

However, their receivers were pretty awful last season. That prompted the franchise to select Western Michigan wideout Corey Davis early on in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Behind the rookie, Rishard Matthews is the second receiver. Matthews isn’t a bad football player but to put it simply; he’s nowhere near as good as Jeremy Maclin.

Maclin could come in and take over the top role immediately and act as a mentor for Davis. He’d also take pressure off of veteran tight end Delanie Walker over the middle. Davis would have plenty of room to operate with Maclin opposite him. Murray would have all the space in the world to run as well, as defenses would have to respect the passing weapons.

Maclin’s market is there, but his price tag isn’t crystal clear at the moment. After all, he’s only been on the open market for a week.

This fit in Tennessee would be very helpful. Maclin would complete this offense, and since the Titans are obviously in contention for a playoff spot, he may be more inclined to take sign with Mariota and company than he would in Buffalo or Baltimore.
